"anniversary dinner"Tis custom to bring the whole family out to dinner for my parents' anniversary. Which was planned on the Saturday, 4 October 2006. But of which my brother could not make it, seeing as how he had to attend someone's wedding dinner. Don't ask me what business he has with the groom. Therefore, as one has eyes to see, the title is in inverted commas and the 'real' dinner is scheduled for tomorrow. except that we have not and cannot decide on a place to eat which is cheap, good and filling (ahem. No, I do not mean a hawker centre nor a food court). truth be known, we eat under a limited range of resturants and cusines (which I can all so count with just one hand.) 1) (the used-to-be ever-so-common) Dragon City which serves Sichuan Cusine but of which serving sizes are minute (alright to be fair, in small portions "just for taste" -- JLC), and charge rather exorbitant prices and after that, supper is guranteed (basically because your stomach is still half empty.) 2) (the now frequented) Crystal Jade which serves Cantonese Cusine as they are from Hong Kong. The food is not bad (if you like Chinese food, which by the way is my family's favourite coz of dad) and filling is satisfied as long as you order the right number of dishes. 3) (disappeared) Punggol Seafood (at hougang mall) Yes. Tis weird for Punggol Seafood to be located at Hougang seeing as how, they are completely different locations.seriously. Anyway, we used to go for, obviously, seafood lah. Again, your Chinese style. Shark's fin there is watery (ok, I mean not as starchy as other resturants)(OK. I MEAN not as thick as other resturants.anrh~) anyway, um, their view is not bad? (not really lar, coz they just have this humongous glass window that reaches the floor for diners to look out through (but which just overlooks the road -_- ) okay, anyway, we do not exactly go there anymore. (NEXT!) 4) (last-alternative) The Chinese Resturant at safra club (yishun) Hey. I'm sorry if i cannot remember the name of that resturant ok. Anyway do not really like it. this resturant is only visited when there is absolutely no other choice and we need to eat Chinese. (ok, actually we always need to eat Chinese.Hehheh.) Never mind. anyway, similarly food there: not-so-thick shark's fin, alright amounts though and cheap! hahaha. don't think i'm some cheapskate la. I don't really fancy cheap resturants, it's just that the food is 'value-for-money' (if you get what i mean:) 5) (ultimately) Club House at seletar country club That is one of the most common places I have eaten. That's because we always go there to swim on saturday and then if time permits, we will eat lunch there. Our fare there is very (and i mean VERY,really) standard. me: chicken chop with jacket potato + lime juice, mum + brother (y.) : pineapple rice! -.- + (100 plus + ice milo), dad: seafood horfun (passing all squid, oyster, etc. to mum) + chin chow and brother (o.) : fish and chips... + coke. super standard. this is what we would usually eat there. price is alright and filling is alright. but it gets boring after awhile... that sums up the one-hand-counting list of resturants that we eat.seriously. we eat jap occasionally, which is what i like but my brother (y.) hates. wow.after such a long post, I'm bushed. meant to be on the topic of my brother asking my dad how much he earned during "anniversary dinner" and he went 'shhhh...secret' which i found highly amusing but ended up doing this list instead. oh wells.going to sleep soon.nights. |
